Hong Kong is the fifth largest foreign investor in Vietnam and plays a crucial role as a gateway for mainland Chinese companies to invest in Vietnam. As of October 2022, the total investment from Hong Kong into Vietnam reached $28.6 billion with 2,110 projects, focusing on sectors such as processing technology, manufacturing, textiles, real estate. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City consistently leads the country in attracting foreign direct investment, benefiting from its abundant labor force, diverse demographics, and high export turnover.
The Hong Kong – Ho Chi Minh City Investment Promotion Seminar and Gala Dinner are jointly organized by the China Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong – Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macau Bay Area Entrepreneurs Association, and the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), with the collaboration of Investment and Business Promotion Company (IBP) and Young Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City (YBA). The event provides an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to meet, exchange, and explore investment and business cooperation with over 40 high-level executives from Hong Kong and Chinese companies, including investment funds, consultancy and asset management firms, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX), investment advisors, manufacturing companies, retail, logistics, etc.
