InnoEx 2023 Press Conference
Annual International Event Promoting Innovation and Growth for the Business Community in Vietnam and ASEAN – InnoEx.
On the morning of July 19, 2023, the official ceremony of the annual international event, InnoEx, took place. The event witnessed the presence of over 200 attendees, including leaders, entrepreneurs, senior executives, press agencies, and television broadcasters. Within the realm of innovation narratives, stories, and insights began to unfold and open up further.
InnoEx – The “Central Station” where innovative railways intersect
InnoEx 2023 is organized by the Young Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City (YBA), the Business Startup Support Center (BSSC), and the Investment and Business Promotion Corporation (IBP). With the theme “Innovation & Green Economy” – fostering sustainable growth through innovation, InnoEx 2023 aims to connect and facilitate collaboration, promoting businesses, industries, and providing resources to catalyze partnerships and cross-sector linkages both domestically and internationally.
InnoEx encompasses the following activities:
- InnoEx Forum: An innovation and business forum tailored for industry experts, entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, influential investors in the region, as well as innovators and technology startups.
- Startup Pitch: The grand finale venue for the Startup Wheel 2023 and Green Innovation Fellowship, two entrepreneurship and innovative startup competitions.
- Exhibition: The place to showcase and introduce products, services, smart solutions, and cutting-edge technologies with groundbreaking innovations from 200 businesses representing 33 countries worldwide.
- Launchpad: A zone for introducing new products and groundbreaking technologies from pioneering businesses in innovation.
- Innovation Talk: A platform for innovators to share stories and experiences in the process of creative innovation within their organizations.
- Business Networking: Connecting businesses through exchanges, creating opportunities for B2B, G2G, G2B, and B2G collaborations within the region and across industries.
- Investment Zone: Facilitating investment opportunities and technology collaboration for prominent startups in the region through networking sessions with 50 businesses, investment funds, and individual investors.
- Talent Hub: A dedicated area for technology talent and experts seeking opportunities in suitable positions and projects within corporations, businesses, and relevant industries. With the participation of 50 universities from both domestic and international institutions.
Speaking about the reason for organizing InnoEx 2023, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Ms. Truong Ly Hoang Phi, said: “When Chat GPT was created in November 2022, the whole world felt a sense of change happening in the blink of an eye. However, it wasn’t just in the blink of an eye; it was a process, an accumulation through many instances of ‘blinking’ until we reached a ‘tipping point’ where we realized it was the ‘blink’ of significant change happening on the surface. In one’s lifetime, there are many moments of ‘blinking,’ and a series of changes have occurred, along with countless opportunities that have passed by with regret. Innovation is no longer a distant concept for us; it has truly become a reality right before our eyes.”
“The competition is no longer about the size or age of the company; it now revolves around Innovation – creative renewal,” affirmed Ms. Truong Ly Hoang Phi. “All the factors of change impact us, and proactively adapting to it is much better than being passive and unaware of what is happening.”
For this reason, InnoEx was created to place “Innovative Companies” at its core, thereby fostering opportunities for connecting information, experiences, resources, investments, markets, and collaborations to empower business leaders in navigating the new landscape.
InnoEx 2023 will provide opportunities for collaboration with strategic cross-industry partners, international investment funds, and access to specialized information and real-world experiences tailored for businesses with innovative mindsets.

How do business leaders “find tickets” for the “train” of innovation?
In a special inaugural collaboration, InnoEx 2023 will join forces with the Vietnam CEO Forum’s organizing committee to host Vietnam CEO Forum 2023 with the theme: Innovation – A journey to the future: How to find the “ticket”?
Sharing more about Vietnam CEO Forum 2023, Mr. Le Tri Thong, Chairman of the Vietnam CEO Forum organizing committee and Vice Chairman cum CEO of PNJ, stated:
“Vietnam CEO Forum is the story of incumbent CEOs, but at this moment, CEOs must ‘look beyond the bridge’ to connect the future with the present and find solutions to overcome their current limitations.”
“One of the contributing factors to this leap is technology. The second factor is the strategic nature of the business community. We need a change in the ecosystem – in other words, the combination of the oarsman, which is the business community, and the helmsman, which is the policy – makers.”
I consider InnoEx as a “central station,” where various train lines have the opportunity to meet: scientists, technology companies, and companies with technological challenges to solve. If these tracks run parallel to each other, they will forever remain parallel. However, if we meet at a “central station,” we have the chance to switch trains, connect journeys, and together reach the destinations we need to reach.

During the announcement ceremony, the signing ceremony for the collaboration between Vietnam CEO Forum, InnoEx, and Startup Wheel took place in the presence of all the invited guests. With this partnership, InnoEx 2023 is expected to offer even more quality content and deliver enhanced effectiveness in connecting and fostering innovative initiatives within the business community.

InnoEx 2023 has received significant interest from businesses that are developing in digital, high-tech, fintech, and other innovative fields. When asked about the reasons for their decision to partner with the event, most of the Sponsors stated that they saw the program as aligning with their development goals and community significance. Furthermore, attending the announcement ceremony, Mr. Nobuyuki Matsumoto – chief representative of the office of the Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO) in HCMC, a partner participating in the Investment Zone, also shared about investment opportunities in Vietnam, the investment potential in the country, and the opening of doors for collaboration and development between Vietnamese startups and large corporations in Japan.
Mr. Abhishek Bakshi, the representative of Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX), spoke about the market potential in Vietnam, HKEX’s current capabilities, and the reason why HKEX chose to participate in InnoEx to enter the Vietnamese market.
