QVIC 2023: Top 3 most outstanding startups have been revealed

Qualcomm Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc., has announced the top 3 winners of the third season of the Qualcomm® Vietnam Innovation Challenge (QVIC).

Established in 2019, QVIC was launched with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and aims to incubate innovative startups in new technology fields with great potential. The program encourages the development of Vietnam’s emerging technology ecosystem by identifying and nurturing innovative small and medium-sized companies that design products in key technology areas such as 5G, IoT, robotics and drones, artificial intelligence, smart cities, wearable devices and multimedia using Qualcomm Technologies’ advanced mobile platforms and technologies. Taking advantage of the program’s patent filing incentives, QVIC startups have filed 29 patents under the program’s support out of a total of more than 86 patents from the companies.

The top 3 companies that won prizes at the final round of QVIC 2023 are:

  • First prize awarded to RYNAN Technologies Joint Stock Company with intelligent insect monitoring system.
  • Second prize awarded to XB Technology Co., Ltd. – Drone delivery technology based on mobile connectivity.
  • Third prize awarded to Benkon Corp. – Energy saving solution for air conditioners.

The prize of the program for the first-place team is 100,000 USD, the second-place team is 75,000 USD and the third-place team is 50,000 USD.

After QVIC, all teams participating in QVIC will become members of Qualcomm Technologies’ global network and have the opportunity to participate in trade shows, meet customers and other events.

Dr. Tran My An, Vice President of Engineering, at Qualcomm, shared: “This year not only has the highest number of applications in our program’s history but also has the strongest startup lineup in the final list. Innovative startups like our participating teams are driving Vietnam’s economic growth by creating new industries and job opportunities as Vietnam enters the world integration stage and maintains its relevance in the global competitive market.”
